The Free Agent frenzy has pretty much come to a slow crawl and most notable players have signed with their new teams. Here are the noteworthy signings since the last post.
NICE LANDING SPOT!
Ben Jarvis Green Ellis (CIN): The man who has never fumbled has left the maddening playcalling of Bellichick and landed on a team whose players definitely need a Law Firm AND run the ball with consistency (3rd most rushing att in NFL last year). Unless they draft someone, he should be the lead back and the number of carries he receives helps his value greatly. On the flip side, Bernard Scott is once again insignificant prompting the GM of Athens to say "FUCKSOCKS! First Robinson goes to shitville and now this."
Marques Colston (NO): The only reason he is not in the worst category is because he stayed put. He gets no separation, he does not have deep speed, but he does have a psionic bond with Drew Brees which makes him very productive. Part of me would love to prove my theory and watch him flounder somewhere else, like Alvin Harper in Washington, but good for him for staying where he is most valuable.
Steve Smith (STL): a slot receiver going to St. Louis is the definition of MEH, but dig deeper on this one. Sure, St Louis has 4 slot receivers (Salas, Gibson, Amendola if he resigns, Smith) and nobody on the outside (dont talk to me about Danario Alexander, all hat no cattle). But they also have a good young quarterback who has never had a security blanket. Smith is that. Dont forget that he caught 104 passes his last healthy year. With a good running game and good QB, Smith can get back to his old form, assuming he is healthy.
Brandon Jacobs (SF): He is an asshole. He is a cancer. He is a running back in a defensive end's body, yet runs like a pussy. He also just signed with the one team that can make him fantasy relevant again. They run. Alot. They like running at the goal line. Alot. They have an injury prone lead back. The backup is a scatback who won't have the same role as him. All of this adds up to this, he will score TD's. If he had signed anywhere else, he would be in the MEH or WTF categories. He is still a whackadoo with unrealized potential so he won't set the world on fire but his presence should make AJFA Frank Gore-aphobic. (get it?)
WHO CARES? HE IS NO AL DEL GRECO OR DEXTER COAKLEY!
Donte Stallworth (NE): he returns to New England, nobody mentions it, nobody cares.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING TO THINK YOU FIT THERE?
Michael Bush (CHI): ????? The RB free agent market is officially dead. 4 years $14M to be a backup? That's it? He could be a legit starter for half the league and this is where he goes? This hurts Greece Lightning a bit because goal line carries just disappeared for Forte (although he sucked there anyway and Barber was taking them) and the Manimals just got snookered. Bush was going to be the low price every down back they always seem to find and now this. I don't get it. Only thing I can think of is the Bears will now cease talking long term deal with Forte and bank on Bush for 2013 and beyond.
Tim Tebow (NYJ): he may be the best Wildcat purveyor ever. He killed the Jets and they wanted him on their side. He killed Tony Sparano and he wants to run the Wildcat with him, but rename it the Holy Moly Here Comes Timmy formation. And it will be fun to watch. But his fantasy stock just plummeted because he is no longer the starting Quarter...errrrr, Runn....errrrr, the starting starter. The man with the heart of Ray Lewis and the throwing mechanics of...Ray Lewis, is not going to touch the ball nearly as much as last year and kills Coco Khoury's hopes and dreams for a holy backfield. Anyone else hope he gets caught with a hooker and an 8 ball under the Tappan Zee Bridge?

The Stallwoth signing is irrelevant? Nonsense- I'm sure there are thousands of night-shift Mexican laborers throughout Florida who are relieved that he won't be playing anywhere near their state.
If I had a son, he would look like Marion.
