First Trade in I-Shoe 2012

Athens Panathinaikos and Kapitalism Stompers Execute First Trade of Season

The International Shoe Football League announced its first trade of the season today as Athens Panathinaikos, looking to bolster its running back population, traded Bernard Scott and Torrey Smith for Maurice Jones-Drew from the Kapitalism Stompers.  The Stompers had a three-headed juggernaut at RB they could no longer afford under the salary cap, and MJD was the odd man out.  "He's our most expensive back and not the best one we have.  We were going to cut him anyway so why not get some value from some sucker who wants to take on his contract", commented co-owner Ryan J. Vander Wielen.

His counterpart, Komissar McKeon was found smoking a cigar while making a funny face on his veranda overlooking his tank batallion.  "Of cource it was a smart thing to do.  And as a bonus, it keeps MJD out of the draft auction where there are alot of teams with a lot of cap space this year.  You have the money, but who are you going to spend it on?  HA!  Capitalism...Who needs it?"

Athens Panathinaikos owner Stavros Papagiorgio (sp?) claims this move was not part of his plan for the season, but what is new?  "Looking at our backfield it is obvious we need more thigh circumference to succeed and get over the hump.  Ray Rice, MJD, Willie Mac, Jon Stewart.  Have you taken a look at all these Ham Hocks?  Did you know that the thigh circumference of our combined backfield can stretch the length of one football field?  True Story.  And when that happens.  You score.  Besides, I told myself 100 times to not make ANY trades until after week 6 much less before the season starts.  And certainly not before training camp is still 3 weeks away.  And you're acquisition is holding out.  And your #1 is also holding out.  Oh dear.  What have I done?  Torreyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!"
